BMW Group Malaysia Takes Lead in the Premium EV Segment amidst Outstanding EV Deliveries in 2023.

Premium automaker celebrates leadership in the premium electrified vehicle (EV) market here with new unlimited charging packages, as well as their latest initiative with Gentari to provide Malaysians with mobile EV charging solutions.


Kuala Lumpur, 18th September 2023 – BMW Group Malaysia today unveiled an electrifying achievement, taking lead as the Number One Premium EV provider in Malaysia with over 1,600 units in BMW, MINI & BMW Motorrad EV delivered in just eight months this year. This far surpasses the total of 1,557 units of BMW & MINI EV delivered by the premium automaker in 2022. While this remarkable milestone reflects the BMW Group Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to Sheer Electric Driving Pleasure, it also further cements their status as the Number One Premium Automaker in Malaysia for the last three years.

Revolutionising Charging Accessibility with Gentari’s Charge Go.

To truly catalyse the transition to Electrified Mobility, BMW Group Malaysia recognises the need to address the most pressing concern shared by many potential EV owners in Malaysia: range and charging anxiety. To this end, the premium automaker expands their strategic partnership with Gentari, a clean energy solutions provider via its wholly-owned subsidiary, Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd, to make EV charging more accessible and convenient for all. Building upon Gentari’s success in establishing widespread EV charging infrastructure nationwide over the past year, the two organisations are now bringing Charge Go to life — a trailblazing mobile EV charging service that can provide on-the-go DC fast-charging.

Exclusive Unlimited-Charging Package by ChargEV, as well as JomCharge & Gentari.

In celebration of their success, BMW Group Malaysia is also collaborating with local charging providers, ChargEV, alongside JomCharge & Gentari to offer exclusive unlimited-charging packages for BMW and MINI EV owners in Malaysia. From 1st October to 31st December 2023, the first 200 registrants of BMW and MINI EV owners can purchase the package for RM2,400 and RM1,800 respectively from any of the aforementioned charging providers. The package provides unlimited charging at all ChargEV or JomCharge & Gentari facilities nationwide for 12 months upon activation and is only valid for use by the specific EV that was registered during sign-up.


Through BMW Group Malaysia’s strategic partnerships with key local charging solution providers, as well as their network of authorised dealers and partnering venues across the country, the premium automaker has made over 1,000 charging facilities available to EV owners in Malaysia.


‘Forwardism, by BMW’ Presents Transcendent Mobility at the Heart of KL.

‘Forwardism, by BMW’ is an exclusive event hosted by BMW Group Malaysia that aims to present an immersive and interactive experience of the BMW Group’s Forwardism philosophy that merges art with luxury, reimagining what was once impossible and pushing boundaries of automotive excellence. Located next to the Mandarin Oriental KL, members of the public will also be able to view and experience the BMW i7 up-close and explore the BMW Group's vision for sustainability under one roof. ‘Forwardism, by BMW’ will be open to the public, by registration-only, this weekend from 10 AM to 10 PM. Discover Electrifying Ownership Possibilities at the Forwardism, Pop-Up by BMW.

BMW Group Malaysia also demonstrates commitment to driving sustainable mobility for Malaysia with the latest Forwardism, Pop-Up by BMW happening now until 12th November. These electrifying showcases will take place at various locations across four major cities, giving Malaysians a chance to get up close and personal with the premium automaker’s vast portfolio of electric vehicles (EVs).


The Forwardism, Pop-Up by BMW promises an immersive experience where visitors can discover the possibilities of sustainable mobility through some of BMW's exceptional BMW i models, ranging from BMW iX1, BMW iX3, BMW i4, BMW iX as well as the highly celebrated BMW i7. These models will also be available for test drives, allowing attendees to experience Sheer Electric Driving Pleasure first-hand.
