How can you find out if an electric vehicle fits into your everyday life?
Discover your electric future by activating “My Trips” in the My BMW App. Individually tailored to your driving behaviour. Do you mainly make short trips or do you tend to drive long distances? How often would you need to charge? Following the analysis, you will know whether a fully electric BMW will fit into your everyday life.
The My BMW app will analyse your trips.
First, select your preferred electric model. Your driving profile in your current BMW with internal combustion engine is then used to evaluate whether your preferred electric vehicle fits your needs. This function is available after 200 trips and 2,000 km in your current BMW (with internal combustion engine).
What the range analysis will tell you.
You will learn the proportion of short and long distances you have driven. This lets you see how many trips you can drive with your preferred model totally without charging. And you will also get information enabling you to specifically plan long journeys. For a relaxed driving experience.
Certainty when planning your travel.
The analysis of your journeys shows how often and for how long you will need to charge your electric vehicle. This way, you'll also see how to organise longer trips with an electric vehicle. For everyday driving, on holiday or on business trips. The app also identifies all the available charging stations located along your route.
How do I increase the range of a BMW electric car?
Touch control or voice command is all you need to switch your BMW electric vehicle to Efficient My Mode. Vehicle functions are then set to energy-saving mode: for example, the power output of the drive is adjusted and air conditioning is intelligently reduced.
How to train yourself to have a more economical driving style.
With the BMW Operating System 8 or higher, the Efficiency Coach shows you how best to accelerate or coast to drive more efficiently. When you are driving efficiently, the power display will light up blue instead of grey. The range gained with an efficient driving style is shown on the information display.
Switching to maximum range while driving.
In Efficient Mode, the Max Range function provides greater range certainty. If, for example, an identified charging station cannot be used as planned, the range of your electric BMW can be increased by up to 25%. At the touch of a button and while driving.
The drive power is reduced and the maximum speed is limited to 90 km/h. Comfort services, such as air conditioning or seat heating, are intelligently reduced.
