Together with the superior traction of the xDrive all-wheel drive, the refined BMW TwinPower Turbo engine provides an output that promises sheer driving pleasure at the highest level. The 6-cylinder petrol engine develops a full 210 kW (286 hp), with the fuel being injected into the cylinders at up to 350 bar for even more efficient combustion. The innovative drive concept of the BMW X5 xDrive45e comprises the new, even more powerful BMW TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder petrol engine and the highly efficient eDrive electric motor. With a system output of 290 kW (394 hp) and 600 Nm of torque it achieves a combined fuel consumption of 2.1 l/100 km. The BMW X5 plug-in hybrid accelerates from 0 to 100km in 5.6 seconds. An impressive performance that promises pure dynamism thanks to BMW EfficientDynamics technologies and at the same time is even more economical in consumption. The CO2 emission value has also been significantly reduced to 49 g/km.

Intelligently more efficient.

Now with a purely electric range of 80 km, the BMW X5 plug-in hybrid is setting off for new horizons. Success in this mission is due to the BMW plug-in hybrid concept in which the intelligent energy management plays a key role. It coordinates the interplay of all drive components and optimises the efficiency of the hybrid drive through an anticipatory operating strategy. During this process, it uses navigation data, for example, to calculate sections of the route that are best suited for the use of the electric motor or for charging the high-voltage battery. The BMW X5 xDrive45e also has various drive modes that are able to exert a major influence on the real consumption values. The high-voltage battery is quite simple to charge via a domestic socket, with the BMW i Wallbox or on the move at public charging stations.

To make sure you are constantly aware of the current consumption and efficiency values of your BMW X5 xDrive45e, you can use the BMW Connected App via your smartphone (iOS or Android) to call up hybrid-specific functions such as battery charge level, the remaining range and the location of the nearest charging station. The charging operation can be controlled via the remote functions and the efficiency measured for every journey and, thanks to helpful tips, optimised for a greater range. To provide a perfect climate when on the move, the temperature in the vehicle can be very conveniently preset via the iDrive Controller or the BMW Connected App.
