CONNECTED DRIVE SERVICES.

The equipment option ConnectedDrive Services forms the basis for BMW ConnectedDrive functions, which provide the driver with a wide range of information, entertainment and service features while on the road.
These include BMW Online, which provides access to current, location-based information such as weather and news, an online search powered by GoogleTM as well as office functions. In the applications menu, it is also possible to assemble an individualised array of services such as webcams, fuel price information, parking information, as well as travel and hotel guides. This also includes convenient, secure and unlimited access to selected smartphone apps. ConnectedDrive Services also provides access to the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, in which services and apps can be ordered and extended any time and anywhere to suit the user's individual requirements. The equipment option ConnectedDrive Services offers all this and more, making every trip in a BMW a real experience.

  • BMW ConnectedDrive Store

    Services and apps to suit every need can be purchased individually from the BMW ConnectedDrive Store at any time and place. These services can be flexibly selected and ordered even after the purchase of the BMW. This allows customers to choose from all the available BMW ConnectedDrive services and apps directly from the car at all times based on their individual needs.
    The services and apps that can be ordered in the BMW ConnectedDrive Store have been specially developed to suit the needs and demands of BMW drivers. The duration of individual services can also be selected. This allows customers to order services for a specified period of time, for example during their holiday.
    The BMW ConnectedDrive Store can be accessed on the go from inside the BMW, or via the My BMW ConnectedDrive online customer portal. The newly ordered services and apps are then accessible in the car shortly after being chosen and purchased. The BMW ConnectedDrive Store provides updated information on the selection of available services and apps at all times.

  • Apps

    The Apps equipment feature is a platform enabling convenient use of selected smartphone apps in BMW vehicles. To make a variety of apps available for their customers, BMW not only develops its own apps, such as BMW ConnectedDrive app and the BMW M Laptimer, but also works closely with partners like Spotify, Napster, GoPro, Deezer and Audible so that those apps can also be used safely inside the car.
    Simply attach a compatible smartphone to the vehicle with the snap-in adapter if one is available, or a USB cable. All of the app's functions can then be conveniently operated via the iDrive Controller. The selection of apps available for use in the car is constantly expanding thanks to close partnerships between BMW and a variety of different suppliers. INTELLIGENT EMERGENCY CALL.

The Intelligent emergency call guarantees fast, targeted assistance round-the-clock as well as support from trained staff – in the driver's native language, even when they're abroad. If an accident takes place involving the activation of an airbag or the belt tensioners (for example), the system automatically issues an emergency call. Relevant details such as the exact position of the car, the severity of the accident and the possible risk of injury to occupants are transmitted to the BMW Call Centre via the car’s built-in SIM card, i.e. independent of a private mobile phone. The BMW Call Centre will inform the nearest rescue coordination centre and provide assistance over the phone until the rescue services arrive. The emergency call can also be triggered manually, in case other road users require help.

BMW ConnectedDrive brings your office into your BMW. Make yourself comfortable and set up your office right inside your vehicle. With BMW ConnectedDrive you can receive, read and reply to e-mail.

  • Bluetooth Office

    Bluetooth Office allows time spent in the car to be used more effectively. Via Bluetooth-enabled devices, daily work can be conveniently organised while on the go. The most important office functions of compatible smartphones, such as e-mails, appointments, tasks or text messages, are shown on the Control Display and can also be read aloud on demand conveniently and safely over the audio speakers.   • BMW Online Office

    With BMW Online Office, time spent in the car can be used more efficiently: the feature makes it possible to receive, read and reply to email when on the road. Alongside comprehensive functions for editing and sending emails from the Control Display, emails can also be read out via the text-to-speech function, and dictated using voice recognition.
    A mailbox using an existing email address can be set up in just a few steps from any private PC using the “My BMW ConnectedDrive” customer portal. Selected email providers can also be set up as BMW Online Office inboxes in the vehicle. If there are several e-mail accounts with the same provider, they will be clearly shown in the menu. Once set up, all emails will be sent to the vehicle without delay or deviation.
     

  • Message dictation

    Take your office with you: with the office function you can use the e-mail and texting function of your Bluetooth smartphone inside the car.
    Message dictation converts spoken messages into text which you can then send by e-mail or text message using a smartphone connected via Bluetooth. With the Navigation System Professional, a Bluetooth connection and ConnectedDrive Services, you’ll no longer need to pick up your phone.     Message dictation is available free of charge for the first 60 days. A contract with Nuance® is necessary for ongoing use.

CONCIERGE SERVICE.

For anyone who has ever wanted to know what it is like to have their own personal butler, here is the chance: with the Concierge Service from BMW ConnectedDrive. At the push of a button the driver is connected with a BMW Call Centre agent who acts as their "personal assistant" on the road.
Whether a particular restaurant, the nearest cash dispenser or an emergency pharmacy – the BMW Call Centre agent is there to help and can even send information directly to the navigation system. The Concierge Service operates independently of the driver's mobile phone and is available in their home country and abroad, around-the-clock, seven days a week and at no extra cost.

REMOTE SERVICES.

With Remote Services and the free BMW Remote App (available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store), various vehicle-related functions, such as locking and unlocking the BMW 3 Series, can be operated remotely. It is also possible to directly transmit destination addresses found using the GoogleTM search engine to a navigation system if one is available.
Additionally, the location of the vehicle can also be displayed. To use this feature, customers simply need to activate Remote Services once in the "My BMW ConnectedDrive" customer portal at www.bmw-connecteddrive.com.
